Pretty In Pink
Who doesn’t love pink?! Pink can be a flirty, fun or a bold statement in your wardrobe. This Pink trend mostly includes the Fuchsia variety, but you can’t go wrong with any shade of pink. I like to wear this by incorporating pink as the statement to my outfit. Whether it’s my top, trousers, coat or shoes. I wont go head to toe in pink, but I definitely will incorporate it. I will pair my pink statement piece with black, grey or white so the pink pops!
I love this trend, but I wasn’t sure how I was going to pull it off. You will never see me in head to toe metallic, but like the pink trend, I love to add metallic as a statement piece to my outfit. Wearing all black and adding a metallic biker jacket or a pair of metallic shoes is my favourite way to pull off this trend! Check out my previous blog post: Spring Trend: Metallic Shoes.
I love the floral trend for the summer, it is so feminine and pretty. I will definitely incorporate it into my wardrobe more than the other trends. You could definitely find me head to toe in floral. I love a floral maxi dress! However, you can always add a floral bottom or accessory to your outfit if you want to add a little bit of floral to your style.
Ruffles were a huge part of NYFW. Some subtle, some very abstract and out there. However, majority of the runway looks were feminine and styled effortlessly. I love the subtle ruffle look especially on dresses and trousers. The ruffle sleeves are what I have been seeing the most on the high street and I think it is the perfect adaptation of the runway!
I love this trend because it is so versatile. It can be edgy, feminine or bold. The embroidery is beautifully feminine, but pair it with a biker jacket and it transforms into a whole new look. I have noticed on the high street in Zara, Topshop and H&M that embroidery is huge with denim. If you want a subtle way to incorporate this style into your wardrobe take a look at the denim options!
I use the runway shows as interpretation on how I can fit the trends into my style. I don’t always love what’s on the runway or love every trend and that’s ok. I pick the ones I love and find ways to integrate them into my wardrobe. A lot of the time people see trends, for example the metallic trend, and think “there is no way I can wear something like that”. Its not about wearing something straight off the runway. In one of my older posts Spring Trend: Metallic Shoes I styled my outfit with a pair of metallic boots. You can add a trend into your wardrobe as easily as a pair of shoes.
Right now Zara is killing it with the spring/summer trends! I walk into a Zara and want everything in sight. It’s all about finding your favourite stores and integrating the trends into your personal style. Fashion is all about creativity, have fun with your style!
What trends are you loving this summer?
